Matt and Kate aren’t getting married until next April but they were keen to get their pre-wedding engagement shoot booked in before the weather got worse for the winter. We decided to go for a Saturday in early October, hoping to catch some fine weather. When I left Cwmbran it was raining heavy but by the time I passed Cardiff it had started to ease.

As I drove down to the car park at Southerndown a storm of biblical proportions descended on the beach. Luckily, by the time I met Matt and Kate there was a break in the clouds. After a little while the sun actually started poking through the clouds. Following a rain shower is the perfect time for photography as the air is crisp and free from dust. You can see in the panoramic photo at the end of this post the dramatic clouds over the Bristol Channel.

Thanks Matt and Kate. See you at the wedding!
